Before we get to this trailer I feel like someone should be addressing the issue of Hollywood reboots. For the last decade we have been force fed horrible reboots of otherwise decent original films. I do acknowledge that some reboots have proved to be astonishingly better than the original- the go to example is that if The Dark Knight movies. I am a huge fan! I hear a lot of hate when it comes to Christian Bale's raspy interpretation of Batman but those people are morons.
I used to have an issue with Hollywood's hard-on about rebooting super hero movies and then I realized something about both Hollywood.
Hollywood movie makers are awful. Uninspired and unimaginative. The shit they churn out on a yearly basis is
embarrassing:
Battleship,That's My Boy, The Dictator, Rock of Ages, Total Recall,...Battleship!
and the box office receipts of those shitty movies reinforce that Hollywood has no idea what a good movie is anymore so they turn to what makes money- SUPER FUCKING HEROES!!!!!
Outside of some real horrible bombs (Hulk, Daredevil, Electra) super hero movies get asses in those seats. The problem is these movies, although highly entertaining, are quickly turning the public into movie idiots.
Which brings me to this.
Quite honestly- it doesn't even matter what's going on in this trailer. I couldn't get past the use of the music of The Lord of The Rings movies...I mean- really? you can't whip up a nice instrumental piece? You have to use a song that is highly recognizable? lame! I can't get excited about a movie when it seems like they haven't given a shit about it.
Will I see this...probably. Should I? Should you?
